چکیده

The main objective of this research is to analyze the bifurcation phenomenon in Internet congestion model for Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) with Random Early Detection (RED). This problem can be divided to many categories considering different viewpoints. Different approaches of modeling (continuous and discrete models) and various system structures (control in end node or routers) are some of these categories. The most significant method in control of such systems is Delayed Feedback Controller (DFC). In this paper, a discrete model is considered and a new algorithm Integral DFC (IDFC) is presented that has many preferences over similar algorithms, which are illustrated by simulation results and analytical discussions. & 2011 Elsevier Ltd. Adaptive Control of Chaos in a Congestion Control Model

Random Early Detection (RED) is the most promising Active Queue Management (AQM) mechanism. Its interaction with Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) can be modeled as a discrete-time dynamical system, which may exhibit complex bifurcation and chaos behavior. An improved RED algorithm is proposed by using a real-time, adaptive, model-independent (RTAMI) technique. Bifurcation analysis and numeri...

Stability Analysis of Internet Congestion Control Model with Compound TCP Under RED

Many applications require fast data transfer over high speed and long distance networks. Compound TCP(CTCP) is a novel congestion control algorithm for high-speed and long delay networks. This paper develops a discrete time dynamic feedback model of a congestion control system with CTCP under random early detection (RED). We find that periodic doubling bifurcation occurs when varying the RED co...

Nonlinear Instabilities in TCP - RED Priya Ranjan

This work introduces a discrete time model for a simplified TCP network with RED control. It is argued that by sampling the state space at certain instants, the dynamics of the system can be described explicitly as a discrete time feedback control system. This system is used to analyze the operating point of TCP-RED and its stability with respect to various controller and system parameters. Wit...

Analysis and Control of bifurcation and Chaos in Average Queue Length in TCP/Red Model

is a model validated previously. In our study, only the average queue size k q − is considered, and the results are based on analytical model rather than actual measurements. The instabilities in the model are studied numerically using the conventional nonlinear bifurcation analysis. Extending from this bifurcation analysis, a modified RED algorithm is derived to prevent the observed bifurcatio...

Nonlinear Dynamics of Mixed TCP and UDP Traffic Under RED

Recently researchers have proposed active queue management (AQM) mechanisms as a means of better managing congestion at the bottlenecks inside the network. Random Early Detection (RED) mechanism has been proposed to control the average queue size at the congested routers. It has been shown that the interaction between an RED gateway and TCP connections can lead to period-doubling bifurcation an...
